PLUS ULTRA bamboo toothbrushes provide an environmentally-friendly alternative to plastic and are made from over 90% biodegradable materials.
PLUS ULTRA’s toothbrushes are made from 100% organically grown, sustainable, anti-microbial Moso bamboo — a durable material with anti-bacterial properties.
PLUS ULTRA's toothbrushes are designed to the specifications of dentists and feature a wave shaped brush head with soft, BPA-free bristles for optimal performance.
PLUS ULTRA's outer packaging is made from paper certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and Forest Stewardship. The inner packaging is made of Bio-PET, a substrate made from 30% sugar and 70% PET. Our packaging uses no heat or glues so there is no release of toxins into our product or the atmosphere. We use plant based inks to print our packaging.
PLUS ULTRA is changing the landscape of oral hygiene products and is the only non-plastic toothbrush option offered in the Whole Foods Southern Pacific Region.
MADE OF THREE MATERIALS:
1) A bamboo handle
2) Nylon bristles
3) Metal staples that hold the bristles in place
The bamboo handle can be disposed of in an active compost and will biodegrade. Nylon bristles and metal staples are not biodegradable. The bristles can be pulled out with pliers and once removed the small metal staples or, alternatively, you can snap off the bristle head. The nylon and metal should be thrown away in the trash or you can contact your city about other disposal or recycling options.
The outer packaging of your PLUS ULTRA toothbrush can be put in your recycling bin. The inner sleeve of the PLUS ULTRA packaging is made from Bio-PET, a substrate that is comprised of 30% sugar and 70% PET plastic.
THE CARE OF BAMBOO AND PLASTIC ARE THE SAME.
All toothbrushes should be rinsed with tap water after use to remove residual toothpaste or debris and then stored upright in a dry environment. The American Dental Association recommends that toothbrushes be replaced every 3-4 months or sooner if the bristles become frayed with use. Toothbrushes should be replaced after you've had a cold or flu.
